Innovation Hack Award: showcasing talent and new ideas
CreativityIn June 2023, we launched the first edition of the Innovation Hack Award: a call for ideas initiated by the Innovation team and open to all members of the Teoresi Group. Participants were invited to form teams, choose a sector of interest among Teoresi’s main markets, and design a solution to solve a problem or improve a process.
Key steps forward
- Valuing talent and encouraging lateral thinking:
The initiative aimed to give space to the talent and creativity of Teoresi’s people, fostering constructive and creative “lateral” thinking to develop solutions or enhance processes.
- Creativity as an innovation enabler:
For us, creativity is one of the key drivers of innovation. When combined with talent and strong technical expertise, it becomes a powerful engine capable of developing solutions that address current needs while anticipating future ones.
- Cross-fertilization and cutting-edge technologies:
Teams were invited to develop projects that combined diverse skills and created synergies across the Group’s key sectors, leveraging interdisciplinarity as a tool for innovation and growth. Exploration and application of technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Blockchain were strongly encouraged.
Social, Environmental, and Corporate Impact
- Skill enhancement:
Providing opportunities for talent to stand out and develop new technical and soft skills. - Internal collaboration:
Ideas born from the intersection of diverse skills, cultures, and perspectives, creating a more significant collective impact. - Sustainable innovation:
The selection of the three finalist teams went beyond technical criteria, such as project feasibility, technological maturity, solution innovation, or marketing aspects. A key evaluation factor was the project’s sustainability level, considered throughout all phases, from prototyping to market launch. - Engineering for human life:
The winning project, Meet Me in Montauk, is a concrete example of how the Innovation Hack Award generates ideas with a strong human impact. By combining AI and virtual reality, the solution aims to help elderly individuals or those facing amnesia due to degenerative or temporary conditions to preserve and relive their memories.
