Teoresi is partner of the Connected Car & Mobility Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano: designing today the mobility of tomorrow
CorporateTeoresi is officially partner of the third edition of Connected Car & Mobility Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano.
It is an opportunity to share our competence in the Smart Mobility context, by strengthening our position among the major market players.
The Digital Innovation Observatories of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, and in particular the one on Smart Mobility, represent a unique opportunity for companies that recognize the importance of keeping up with the industry trends and of the awareness about the impact that the complex technology themes have on our society.
We talked about it with Fabio Gadda, Teoresi Marketing Manager, who took part in the kickoff workshop.
Which are the main topics of interest covered by the Observatory?
The increasing development of the new technologies applied to the automotive sector and, in general, the potential of mobility, have determined the mission of the Observatory. Its goal is to generate and share knowledge about the evolution of the vehicles in “smart” terms and, more in general, on the role of the digital technologies supporting mobility, with the ultimate goal to contribute to the market development and to raise questions and challenges to the partners.
The research themes of the 2021/22 edition will range from the analysis of the application scenario of technologies and markets, the study of the state of the art of fleet management, the aspects related to cybersecurity, to the evolution of consumer habits.
What prompted Teoresi to participate in the Observatory?
The keyword is “ecosystem”: when talking about connected vehicles, the real strength lies in cooperation, all the players (Public Administration, research centers, companies, and consumers) must contribute, bearing complementary experiences and skills in an open innovation context.
The value represented by Teoresi comes from our historical automotive expertise and from our will to seek new solutions to the complex challenges related to the connected car and mobility world, as demonstrated also by the partnerships established during the last years.
We believe we can ensure technological consistency at the open innovation table.
A further interesting aspect among the Observatory goals is the continuous exchange between the members of the community, we will join at the workshops during the year, and which will have a public moment of recognition during the conference scheduled for the end of May 2022.
Finally, an aspect that is not secondary at all, is the enhancement of the point of view of two important representatives of the ecosystem.
In fact, the observatory will investigate the perceptions of end consumers through the creation of a survey conducted in collaboration with Doxa, with particular attention to the degree of appreciation of the benefits of joining together the services of the mobility as a service.
The observatory will also observe the approach of the Public Administration towards the strategies activated by the various players for increasingly attractive solutions (for example, integration with innovative payment systems) and Smart Road projects.
What technologies will be under the magnifying glass?
The activity of the Observatory starts from the analysis of the car as a device and then extends the study towards infrastructures, the cloud, analytics, and user experience.
The analysis will be used for an update on the state of the art of the different technologies involved in the ecosystem, their standardization, the development of services, and the adaptation of regulations.
The observatory will deal with V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technologies in their various applications, such as road user protection, extended sensing, high precision localization, connectivity and active control systems for autonomous driving, environment mapping, as well as the variations for logistics.
This promises to be a path full of incentives and opportunities for growth but above all a starting point for conceiving completely new business models and innovative services for the consumer.
