Teoresi has officially obtained the TED Circles license, to organize and host meetings among small groups of people, where topics are discussed in a free and constructive way.
Our TED Circles, being held last week in three sessions online on TED platform, belongs to our way to Connection Day 2021, the internal event that has always brought all the Teoresi employees together for one day.
The Circles, dedicated to all the Teoresi Group colleagues, have discussed some complex technological and current topics which have an impact on our society, with a view to collect the ideas of the group and contribute to a shared vision to actively guide technology and our human capabilities.
What are the topics that animate the discussions within the Teoresi community?
During the Circle dedicated to the applications of machine learning, we asked ourselves whether artificial intelligence is able to process always effective decisions to respond to ethical or moral evaluations.
Then we asked ourselves whether invasive technologies such as facial recognition, deep fake, and the manipulation of some online browsing methods are threats to protect us from or a push to new technological challenges aimed at the protection of digital rights.
In the end, during the “Beyond human” circle, the consideration has moved to the line between humanity and technology and the adaptability and resilience of the human body: is technology able to replace damaged parts of the body or can it contribute to creating improvements that allow exceeding human capacities?
It was a first very successful experiment, participation and involvement were very high: we are already thinking about new topics to propose to our colleagues!
In addition, TED Circles are an instrument we aim to make available to our customers and partners to discuss together topics, projects, and technologies of common interest in an open and shared way.
