HiFuture wishes well: technology and humanity in the wishing well at CNAO.
CorporateESGSustainabilityHiFuture, a company of Teoresi Group specializing in embedded systems design, has been supporting the National Center for Oncological Hadrontherapy (CNAO) for about ten years. In addition to projects in hadron therapy and the development of cutting-edge technologies for cancer treatment, HiFuture has contributed with a donation towards the realization of the software for the “Wishing Well” project, a “well-being” architecture located in the entrance hall of CNAO.
Born from the idea of two creative educators from Medicinema, this is the first hi-tech “wishing well” installed in a care center. Thanks to custom-developed software and a digital interface installed in its upper opening, it allows composing messages of hope and good wishes.
Resembling an inverted hourglass shape, like a small spacecraft, the Wishing Well has become a symbol of emotional support and solidarity for those undergoing complex treatment paths. It helps create a more welcoming and comforting environment for patients and their caregivers, who can express their emotions and find solace in messages from other visitors.
By choosing a combination of 4 words from approximately 4,000 pre-selected ones capable of conveying positive messages, everyone can create their message and “launch” it into the well. Alongside previously inserted messages, it will “float” accompanied by the soothing sound of moving water.
By blending technology and humanity, this project aims to provide relief through the exchange of positive messages. It also shows how innovation can not only contribute to the advancement and improvement of therapies but also offer emotional support to patients so they can face their treatment journey with greater serenity.
