Good things come in threes: at IWES Bari Teoresi simplifies the management of the certification systems with model-based design
CorporatePresentationsSponsorshipThe seventh edition of the Italian Workshop on Embedded Systems will be held in Bari, Italy, on September 22 and 23. Teoresi is participating for the third year in a row, presenting one of the most cutting-edge solutions for the world of ISO certifications.
The IWES conference is the ideal occasion of the exchange between academic and industrial research on the aspects related to embedded systems: it is a place for discussion and networking between researchers, who have the opportunity to present their work, and the companies involved in the embedded systems development, which, like Teoresi, will have the opportunity to tell their project challenges, thus fostering the synergy between academia and the world of industry.
The contribution of Teoresi
During the technical session Teoresi, represented by Eugenio Romeo, Team leader for Embedded Software Development activities, will hold a speech titled “Model-based design and quality management: an automated process for safety-reliable production code”.
When: Thursday September 22, Industrial Session 2, 16.35
Where: DICAR Congress Hall (Department of Civil Engineering Sciences and Architecture, Politecnico di Bari)
What is it specifically about? We asked Eugenio to tell us more.
«Simply put, we have developed a tool, that employs the model-based design approach, that is able to fully automate a process that has always been of concern to those involved in the development of safety-compliant software.
The production of documentation related to quality standards is a mandatory step in the software development process: to perform this task, it is necessary to produce functional requirements, test and traceability reports, code verification and much more, resulting in high costs and long time for quality management.»
What are the advantages of our solution?
«The model-based design approach simplifies and speeds up software development and verification processes and offers a wide range of tools dedicated to quality management, some of which are already qualified to produce software compliant with various safety standards (ISO 26262 for automotive, EN 50128 for rail, ISO 25119 for agriculture and machinery, etc.).
The tool we have developed in Teoresi enables a single click to run an automated routine that generates all the necessary outputs to be compliant with the ISO-26262 pt. 6 standard, which covers functional safety in the automotive field.
Screening of the requirements is initiated, automated tests for functional verification and coverage calculations are performed; then comes the automated generation of test reports, traceability matrices, coverage and code verification reports. All this with one command.
The result is a faster qualification process that greatly reduces time-to-market.»
Is the solution immediately applicable?
«Not only is it immediately applicable, but it was the solution implemented in one of our successful projects developed for one of our major automotive customer. In other words, we are ready to offer our know-how to anyone with a need to simplify, automate and speed up quality management processes»
Besides the technical presentation, students and researchers will have the chance to know more about Teoresi and its projects, and to pose some questions to our colleagues, in Hall C, at 15.00.
