Automation Day 2024: Innovation and Connections Between University and Industry
CorporatePresentationsToday, December 20, 2024, Teoresi participates for the fourth consecutive year in Automation Day, an event organized by the Automation and Control of Complex Systems Engineering program at DIEEI, University of Catania, under the patronage of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS). Dedicated to fostering dialogue between companies, research centers, and students, Teoresi colleagues Roberto Moncada, Roberto d’Ignoti, Massimiliano Curti, and Massimo Milizia are attending the event to meet the next generation of engineers from Catania.
Building a Bridge Between Academia and the Job Market
The main goal of Automation Day 2024 is to facilitate the exchange of professional experiences, career opportunities, and thesis projects, helping graduating students transition into the job market. Teoresi colleagues will be available throughout the event. In the morning, Roberto Moncada will introduce the Group and its activities in the field of automation. Later, Massimo Milizia and Massimiliano Curti will meet with students to discuss thesis and internship opportunities.
Currently, available research topics include:
- Battery Management Systems: Electronic systems capable of monitoring and managing the performance, safety, and lifespan of rechargeable batteries.
- Digital Twin: Virtual replicas of products or complex systems that enable simulations and monitoring, optimizing resources in real time.
- Programmable Logic Control: Electronic devices used to automate machinery and industrial processes through programmable logic.
- Hydrogen & Fuel Cell: Technologies that convert hydrogen into electricity through a chemical process, offering sustainable solutions for mobility and energy.
Finally, some alumni of the program, now professionals, will share their career journeys. Roberto d’Ignoti, a former student and now an Embedded Engineer at Teoresi, will speak about his experience.
Over the past five years at Teoresi, I have had the opportunity to grow professionally, deepening my expertise in automation and embedded systems. The dynamic and stimulating environment at Teoresi has enabled me to take on new personal challenges and transform the engineering approach developed during my academic journey into concrete actions in the professional world.
