Autonomous vehicles come with a large number of sensors, multiple LIDARs, RADARs, and high-resolution cameras. The communication demand in the vehicles has increased noticeably in recent years, and car manufacturers are exploiting CAN to its limits.
When you want to record the vehicle data from the autonomous cars to test and verify, it is desirable to record everything that autonomous vehicles can produce at high speed. How can you possibly record that much data? Even if you find a device with high-bandwidth logging and a high storage capacity, how do you offload and analyze terabytes of data?
On December 4th, the Intrepid Tech Day took place in Teoresi Turin headquarters: the conference aimed to give a survey of the latest advancement on Vehicle Networking with focus on tools and test solutions already available in the market.
Topics discussed:
State of the Art Data Logging and Benefits. Change of paradigm in Data Logging in regards of ADAS / Autonomy
Advanced Automotive Tools Applications. Making Networks “Play Nice With Each Other” – custom gateway made easy – Analog I/O with Intrepid RAD IO 2 Series – An Open System for Analog IO – IoT with open Automotive Platform – VSpy Libraries and APIs
Real world Automotive Cybersecurity
AUTOSAR and Automotive Ethernet
The topics have been presented by Sven Bohner, Europe General Manager and Fabio Leite-Soares, Automotive Ethernet Specialist of Intrepid Control Systems, Teoresi technological partner for the distribution of complete solutions for the vehicle network analysis, testing, simulation, and automation.
